Het valt niet mee afscheid te nemen van een auto waar ik heel veel plezier heb gehad.
Volgende week gaat mijn 300TDT re-import uit Canada naar een nieuwe eigenaar.

Ik vind het al een tijdje zonde om deze byzondere auto bloot te stellen aan de vele
kilometers die ik jaarlijks rijd.
De 300TDT uit 1986 met op de trekhaak en de standkachel na werkelijk alle opties
heeft ook recht op een rustige oude dag.
In twee jaar tijd heb ik 120.000 heerlijke probleemloze kilometers met deze kombi gereden.

De auto gaat naar een echte liefhebber die hem spaarzamer dan ik zal gebruiken.
Hij komt in een verzameling andere Benzen terecht waaronder een W124 cabrio en
een 300TDT W123.

De opvolger kombi is net klaar. Na de techniek is nu ook de koets volledig in orde.
Een nieuw linkervoorscherm met een frisse laklaag geven de 300TDT uit 1992 een
tweede jeugd.
Ik zal het comfort van de Canadees wel gaan missen.
Vanaf volgende week weer gewoon slingeren om de portierramen open te doen........

Ik heb van weinig auto's spijt gehad dat ik ze verkocht heb, op 2 na. Een W460 300GD met om617 Turbodiesel en de W124 300TDT met 5,5k op het klokje...

mag ik vragen waarom je hem hier niet aangeboden hebt?
er zou vast en zeker belangstelling zijn geweest.

Natuurlijk mag je dat vragen.

Ik zocht voor deze 300TDT een koper die niet in de eerste plaats geinteresseerd was in de belastingvrije
status van de auto.
Hij gaat nu naar een liefhebber die de auto ook zonder bv gekocht zou hebben.
Bovendien wordt de auto onmiddelijk onder handen genomen wat de carrosserie betreft.
Hij heeft één roestige wielkuiprand, een plekje op een dorpel dat is wat er aan de koets mankeert.
Daarna gaat de 300TDT naar Wensink voor een 60.000 km beurt en herstelling van wat kleine
ongemakken zoals buitentemperatuur meter, kachelmotor.
De 300TDT gaat daarna half met pensioen, er wordt veel minder mee gereden dan bij mij het geval is.

De vervanger is een jongere 300TDT met veel minder opties, er zitten niet eens elektrische ramern in!
Mogelijk komt er nog een 300TD multiklepper bij, voorlopig kan ik me aardig redden met de nieuwe turbodiesel.

Met andere woorden, op dit forum zijn geen mensen te vinden die haar niet misbruiken vanwege haar belastingvrije staat?
Volgens mij zitten hier ook aardig wat liefhebbers.

De kombi hoefde niet weg van mij.
Er zit geen houdbaarheidsdatum op, er is ook nog een plekje beschikbaar om hem te stallen.
Bij toeval kwam ik in contact met de koper, we zijn alletwee klant bij hetzelfde carrosseriebedrijf.
Van het forum kreeg ik voornamelijk reacties die op de bv status afkwamen.
Dat is niet de bestemming die ik in gedachten had voor deze auto.

Ik heb een paar details gemaakt van de opties.

Jammer genoeg de "tulp" knopjes voor de deurvergrendeling vergeten.
In de VS en Canada moeten de deuren ontgrendeld kunnen worden door
het knopje op de deurbekleding uit te trekken.
Bij een standaard MB verdwijnen die knopjes in de deurbekleding.
Ik neem aan om een diefstalpoging lastiger te maken.
Dat plaatje maak ik nog voor de aflevering.

Wat een prachtige auto, ik word bijna jaloers
Er zit wel een nieuwer interieur interieur in, of niet?

Echt mooi kan ik hem niet vinden, maar hij zit wel goed in de optie,s.

De auto moet na de roest reparatie helemaal gespoten wegens kleurverschil en steenslag.
Er zit een mopf1 interieur in waarvan het binnenwerk kompleet is vervangen.

De vorige eigenaar heeft ruim 15,000 euro uitgegeven aan onderhoud en verbeteringen.
Daar is door mij nog eens 6000 euro bij gedaan.
Waarschijnlijk is dit een van de fijnste Benzen die ik gehad heb.
Er zullen er niet veel zijn die af fabriek zoveel opties hadden.
Gezien de prijsontwikkeling voor diesel denk over te stappen op benzine, eventueel LPG, voor dagelijks gebruik.
Voorlopig staat er een verse 300TDT klaar om me dagelijks mee te verplaatsen.

Ik rijd sinds gisteren met de opvolger 300TDT uit 1992.
Het meeste mis ik de elektrische ramen, ik grijp nog steeds naar een knopje dat er niet meer is.
De jongere turbo diesel rijdt anders, strakker en iets stugger geveerd maar zeker zo fijn.
Bij Stern autoschade in Bunnik is er een nieuw LV spatbord opgekomen.
Gespoten zonder uitslaan zonder enig verschil in kleur, structuur of glans.
Mooi vakwerk dat ook de kwaliteit van de oorspronkelijke lak bewijst.
Een paar frisse koplampglazen ogen beter en geven ook meer licht.
Met wat geluk klopt er niet opnieuw een Zwitser aan die te weinig oplet in het verkeer.
