Afgelopen maandag deze oldtimer in brand geraakt. Eigenaar had de auto pas volgens RDW. Nu maar hopen dat hij goed was verzekerd :?:

Dit is een nachtmerrie voor elke autoliefhebber.

Oorzaak goedkope ondeugdelijke gasinstallatie.
LPG is prima maar bezuinig niet op de installatie.
Dan krijg je toch nog een kooktoestel ipv een auto.

Hallo Liefhebbers

Hoeft geen gasleiding te zijn, ben bezig met mijn Mercedes om alle roest weg te werken aan de onderkant van de auto.
En kwam er achter dat de rubberenbrandstofslangen poreus waren, dus alles vervangen.Kom ik er later achter dat ook een leiding aangetast is door roest.Kan ook een oorzaak van de autobrand zijn.
Neemt niet weg dat dit erg jammer is en toch wel pijn doet.

Het deksel van het luchtfilter ligt op straat.
Neem van mij maar aan dat ondeugdelijke LPG in bouw de oorzaak is.

Goed geraden!
Back fire veranderde in front fire.
Allemaal binnen een maand na het opnaam zetten van deze 380SE.

knap dan dat het de gasinstallatie is aangezien hij door het RDW gekeurd moet worden :roll:

Gasinstallaties worden al jaren niet meer gekeurd na inbouw.
Die keuring is net als de controle van trekhaken al lang vervallen.
De inbouwer geeft een verklaring af aan de RDW dat de installatie aan de wettelijke eisen voldoet waarna het kenteken deel 1 gewijzigd wordt.

Toch wel knap dat het luchtfilterdeksel daar ligt terwijl de motorkap nog dicht is, zoveel ruimte is er toch ook niet onder de motorkap?

Onderdeel van de APK bij een LPG auto is dat er met een gasdetector gezocht wordt naar lekkages. Zo'n installatie lekt zelf zomaar niet.

Kortsluiting is een grotere kans dat er de fik in gaat. Geoxideerde en natte zekeringkasten, slechte bobine en bougiekabels, water op de bodem onder de vloermatten, radio waarbij allerlei losse draden er achter weg gefrot worden en sluiting kunnen maken etc etc. Je komt echt van alles tegen wat brand kan veroorzaken.

Gasboer aansprakelijk stellen? Die wordt er echt niet zenuwachtig van want in je opdrachtbevestiging sluit hij alle risico's uit. Hij kan toch niet verantwoordelijk gesteld worden voor de staat van een 25 jaar oude auto.

Het zal lastig zijn om hard te maken dat de gasboer iets verknoeid heeft.

maar meestal kunnen ze wel kijken waar het begonnen is, en als het luchtfilter eraf ligt dan is het ook niet zomaar een kleine back fire hik geweest,, ik heb zelf gas ooit ingebouwd (nieuwe auto's) maar de courante 2e hands keken we echt wel even rond, op slechte ontsteking, staat elektrische installatie , niet uitgebreid maar voldoende om te zien of het een johnie spitbak is of niet, we hebben wel eens een wagen geweigerd waar men van alles met scotsblokjes "gerepareerd" had en dingen had toegevoegd ,, lampen, speakers op een manier dat ik mijn handtekening er onder wilde zetten.

want gewoon een clausule dat ze nergens voor aansprakelijk zijn klinkt leuker dan ze denken, een fikse back fire moet er wel wat mis zijn en dat hadden ze moeten zien, of ze moeten kunnen aantonen dat de klant naderhand zelf heeft lopen knoeien, en daar hoeven ze weinig moeite voor te doen omdat de verzekering alles uit de kast haalt om niet te dokken.

een backfire is ook heel wat anders dan n gaslek. (ontstekingstijdstip)
blijft gissen wat de oorzaak is

ik heb wel gezien dat er bij bepaalde auto's zich veel gas ophoopte en dan met een backfire de boel opblies vooral auto's met die klassieke luchtmeters met die klep die gewoon afbraken en ergens in het luchtfilterhuis klapperen.
