Peter, ik kom uit de buurt van Haarlem en heb een compressiemeter en ook een M104 (in een G) waar ik het onderhoud zelf van doe. Wil je best eens komen helpen met diagnose stellen/second opinion en uitlezen OBD. Hoor het wel.

Ik heb het zelfde mee gemaakt met mijn 320TE.. Op de snelweg wilde richting top gaan en bij 200 zakte hij terug na 100..

Toch nog 60km door moeten rijden tot thuis en dat was geen pretje.. In de stad wilde hij afslaan en flink schudden van de motor.
Bobine was defect en cilinder 1 had geen compressie meer. Klep gebroken en stuk bougie afgebroken... Hoe het is gekomen blijft een raadsel...

Kop gevlakt, nieuwe kleppen, bougies, uurloon was totaal 1450,- Voor deze motoren echt wel de investering waard.. Een goede m104 worden alleen maar prijziger.. Mijne staat nu geschorst wellicht volgend jaar toch de verkoop in. We zullen zien.

Derhalve ook geen stoters, Douweprutshok lijkt me zoiso een beter adres krijg je nog een kop snert derbij met et kouwe weer

Koprevisie is de uitslag.....

Ben enorm geholpen door Richard (RD500sec) afgelopen zondag.
Hij is naar mij toegekomen en hij heeft de E280T onder handen genomen.

De bougie uit cilinder 6 gehaald en met een camera de binnenkant bekeken.
Deze cilinder zou 0 bar compressie hebben, degene tegen het schutbord aan.
We konden aldaar geen gekke dingen zien, keken op de zuiger, geen gaten of iets raars.

Gehele ontsteking gedeelte zag er overigens prima uit.
Motorkabelboom was al eens vervangen, maar ook bougies, kabels en bobines

Aansluitend met een kleine compressor een luchttest gedaan op cilinder 6
Als een cilinder geen compressie heeft zal de lucht ergens ontsnappen.
Luchtgeluid bij de inlaat of uitlaat betekent kapotte klep(pen).
Vanuit het carter bij de oliedop betekent kapotte zuiger(veren).
Bij goede compressie gaat de boel draaien, dat gebeurde wel bij cilinder 1.
Deze hadden we ook voor alle zekerheid getest, omdat we nergens iets hoorde op cilinder 6.

Achteraf had dit waarschijnlijk te maken met de lichte compressor welke de lucht ook nog eens door het gehele uitlaattraject moest 'duwen'......daarom hoorde wij waarschijnlijk niets bij de uitlaat.

Want hierna voor alle zekerheid een compressietest gedaan op alle cilinders, de uitslag:
cilinder 1: 12,75 bar
cilinder 2: 12,5 bar
cilinder 3: 12,5 bar
cilinder 4: 12,5 bar
cilinder 5: 12,5 bar
cilinder 6: 0 bar

In principe geen reden voor een ruilblok.
Wel reden om hier iets mee te doen, ook gezien de prima staat van de auto.
Oplossing is koprevisie uitvoeren en kijken wat je tegenkom.
Koppakking was wel al eens vervangen.....

We konden de camera niet draaien, dus konden de bovenkant van de kop, de kleppen niet zien.
Waarschijnlijk 1 of meer van de kleppen van cilinder 6 op een bepaalde manier kapot.
Reden, onbekend.... Slijtage in de loop der jaren en km?

Richard kent een klein revisiebedrijf uit de buurt van de 'oude stempel' en is bereid daar eens te informeren naar mogelijkheden en prijzen van koprevisie.

Dus wordt vervolgt......

Conclusie, bij 1 uitlaatklep stukje afgebroken (metaalmoeheid?).
Kapot stukje niet te zien/vinden dus waarschijnlijk en gelukkig door uitlaattraject afgevoerd.
Rest van de kleppen, zuigers etc. zag er goed uit

Evengoed aardig karwei, sommige bouten zaten goed vast, sommige weer enigszins los
Op sommige plekken lastig te bereiken, zeker tegen het schutbord aan en de inlaatzijde.
De laptop met technische tekeningen van MB over de M104 erbij deed ons af en toe ook helpen
Ook kwamen we wat 'oud zeer' tegen, zie ook het bericht van Michel, . Een soortgelijke pen/bus zit ook bij de M104 t.b.v. de distributiegeleider, enkel deze was bij ons blijkbaar in het verleden al eens afgebroken en aansluitend hergebruikt of laten zitten.....

Eind goed al goed, met de kundigheid, creativiteit en zeker geduld van Richard en ondanks de 'smerige' oostenwind op onze mik heeft de kop zich eindelijk overgegeven

Zo da's een hele klus geworden... Tja, blijven natuurlijk auto's op leeftijd. Ondanks goed onderhoud kan er altijd iets onvoorziens gebeuren. Een klep waar een stukje van is afgebroken heb ik nog nooit gezien. Ik denk wel dat de auto de reparatie waard is. Een 6 cilinder W124 in deze staat zul je niet snel tegenkomen.

Zo, de klus is geklaard

Onwijs super gezien de hoeveelheid tijd en aandacht hij de 280 heeft gegeven.
Een echte vakman en waardig hulpvol forumlid

280 rijdt weer als vanouds of zelfs beter

Gelijk verse olie en filtertje gedaan alsmede bougies.
Uiteraard pakkingen van spruitstuk, kleppendeksel en kop vervangen.
Ook nieuwe kopbouten etc., alles schoon- en gangbaar gemaakt cq. gecheckt.
Distributieketting zag er goed uit; 5 graden rek, is OK.

Erg blij en binnenkort maar eens goed wassen en poetsen als traktatie
