Goedemiddag,

Ben bezig met het plaatsen van een 722.6 automaat in mijn E280. Vijf versnellingen en een 0.83 overdrive in het laatste verzet zorgen voor een lager toerental en wat zuiniger verbruik. Ik rijd dagelijks in mijn W124 en mis altijd de 5e versnelling. Ik weet dat de 722.5 bak leverbaar was met een 5e versnelling. Echter niet heel betrouwbaar en mijn W124 is de juiste kleur en heeft alle opties die ik wens. Vandaar de ombouw

Er is wat informatie te vinden op internet maar ook niet heel veel. Ik heb van OfGear de module om de bak aan te sturen, ook bezit ik een pook van een R129. Het koppelen van de automaat gaat erg makkelijk, deze past zonder problemen. Ook is de bak even lang als de oude 722.4 automaat, dus het aansluiten van het cardan ging probleemloos. Lijkt mij leuk om het process hier onder vast te leggen. Ik ben er niet dagelijks mee bezig maar probeer zo vaak mogelijk wat te doen.

-Aangepaste olieleidingen transmissie (koppeling is groter bij de 722.6)
-Schakelstang maken
-Park Lock Interlock Linkage aansluiten (W124 heeft dit op de pook zitten, de 722.6 bak achteraan)
-w126 km teller plaatsen (elektronische teller)
-Bedrading OfGear plaatsen
-Van Gas klephuis groene kabel koppelen aan TPS ingang OfGear

Genoeg te doen de komende tijd. Ik had nog even op het forum gezocht of andere mensen misschien ook een
722.6 hebben geïnstalleerd, kon niets vinden. Alle tips en adviezen zijn namelijk welkom. Met name de Park Lock Interlock Linkage vind ik nog geneuzel. Heb nu een W210 kabel besteld, hopelijk is die te koppelen aan mijn rempedaal.

Het liefst heb ik een km teller van een 400E/500E/E420 of E500, mocht iemand hier die hebben liggen en willen verkopen dan hoor ik het graag.

Mooi dat er iemand anders ook mee bezig is Ik ben zelf ook begonnen met onderdelen verzamelen, heb onder andere een W124 V8 kilometerteller liggen, maar heb het nooit helemaal doorgezet omdat ik twijfelde over de lengte van de bak en wat er allemaal aangepast moet worden waardoor ik moeilijk in kon schatten hoelang ik de auto stil moest zetten.

De oud type W124'ers hebben deze park lock interlock functie niet, zou je deze niet kunnen omzeilen (fixeren) zodat je hier geen speciale kabel voor nodig hebt, of ben je eraan gehecht?

Ik ben in ieder geval blij dat je schrijft dat de 722.6 en de 722.4 gelijk zijn qua lengte en dus fysiek uit te wisselen zijn. Dit geeft mij weer wat meer zekerheid waardoor ik aankomende zomer toch wil gaan beginnen aan de ombouw.

Ja die elektronische teller voor een W124 is niet makkelijk te vinden. Maar soms komen ze langs op ebay.
Van een W126 is passend te maken, loopt dan alleen maar door tot 240km/u. Niet dat het uitmaakt
maar houd alles graag zo origineel. De pook van een R129 of W202 passen perfect in de W124, valt dan
ook niet op.

Ik ben niet gehecht aan die Park Lock maar de bak heeft het nodig. Kan natuurlijk de pin vergrendelen
zodat de bak nooit gelockt is. Maar toch wel een fijn gevoel dat mocht ik de automaat vergeten in P te
zetten en wil starten ik niet naar voorschiet. En me vriendin rijd soms ook in de auto

En ja de automaat sluit probleemloos aan, ben alleen nog bezig met een mount bedenken. Ik had geen rubber
bij de bak en wil graag de originele bevestiging proberen te gebruiken met origineel rubber. Heb de krik er nu
nog onderstaan.

Heb olie-leidingen besteld van mijn type bak, ingang is groter dan een op een 722.4. Daarnaast laat ik een nieuw mount hardsolderen op een oude leiding. Misschien zijn we er dan ook wel. Voorste gedeelte naar de radiateur is
een flex slang. Bestaat dus uit twee delen, zal snel weer een foto maken.

Omdat wij geen TPS hebben op het gasklephuis zoals de W210 is het mogelijk om met het HFM systeem een kabel af te tappen. Kreeg het volgende antwoord van Ole Fejer:

"Yes take my TPS plug and find the green wire.
Cut this wire and splice in to your signal on the car. The signal should be 0.5 - 4.5 V
The two wire left in my TPS plug do not connect."

Probeer van het weekend weer verder te gaan!

Als onderdelen van een R129 en een W202 bruikbaar zijn, zou ik zeker ook eens naar W140-onderdelen kijken. Komen uit dezelfde generatie en zijn op technisch vlak vaak uitwisselbaar met de R129.

Bij mijn weten past de versnellingspook van een w140 niet in een W124. Behuizing is hoger.
Vind dit een heel leuk project. Blijf het zeker volgen. Mijn TDT wilt ook zo’n bak.

Ik wil ook een automaat met 5 versnellingen in mijn W126.

Van het weekend bezig geweest met de bekabeling van de OfGear te verwerken. Ook even de pook op zijn plek gezet en het hout terug geplaatst. Ziet er origineel uit Het klopt dat de pook van een W210 te hoog is en van een W140 volgens mij ook. Beste zijn die van een W202 en R129 met de 722.6 bak.

Enige waar ik nog tegenaan loop is die Park Lock Interlock Linkage kabel. Mijn 722.6 heeft een later type plug met nummer A140 270 13 65. Ik was bij de dealer vanmiddag maar ze konden zonder chassisnummer niet zoveel doen. Natuurlijk hebben we gekeken in het systeem maar als snel kwamen er meer klanten en vroegen ze toch vriendelijk
om even terug te komen met een onderdeelnummer. Ja die heb ik dus helaas niet. Misschien zijn er mensen hier die EPC hebben of WIS en wat meer kunnen neuzen. Alle hulp kan ik gebruiken. Heb nu een mail eruit gegooid naar Duitsland waar die bak vandaan komt of zei nog het chassisnummer hebben.

De hydraulische leidingen voor de 722.6 zijn ook binnen gekomen. Hoop daarvan het weekend mee verder te gaan.

Dealers werken het liefst op chassis nr.
Doorgewinterde amateurs (reken mijzelf hierbij) hebben dat niet altijd nodig. Ik zoek mijn onderdelen zelf op en stuur de nummers die ik nodig heb dan naar de magazijnier.

Probeer te achterhalen bij welke wagen de bak gebruikt is of aan de hand van de bakcode kan je ook onderdelen opzoeken.

Is het nog gelukt met de kabel? En ondertussen al een testrit kunnen maken?

Ik ben ook wel benieuwd! Ook omdat ik zelf een 722.6 in een W201 2.6 aan het bouwen ben. Ik heb de onderdelen al verzameld en kom dezelfde uitdagingen tegen. Heb inmiddels een werkende W126 km teller in het huis van een W201 gebouwd. Wat een klus is dat. Maar gelukt, inclusief het resetten van de dagteller. Ik wil me dan ook aanbieden als vraagbaak voor degenen die dit ook van plan zijn. Hoe dan ook beetje het verkeerde forum maar zelfde uitdaging.

Jammer dat je daar op het 201 forum niets over gepost hebt....
Zou je dat niet alsnog willen doen, beginnend met het aanpassen van de teller?

De starter van dit topic is op 6 juni 2020 nog op het forum geweest, wel jammer dat hij dit topic niet meer heeft bijgewerkt.

Zo'n 722.6 bak heb ik in m'n W202 2 maal ggruwelijk defect gehad op 375000km en 1 keer een olielekkage via die park lock interlinkage geval ding aansluiting.
Gratis tip, vervang die park lock aansluiting en de afdichting er van, als je de bak nog op de werkbank hebt liggen, dit is gewoon een dag werk ofzo. Lijm een magneet in de carterpan van de bak en ververs in godsnaam op tijd je olie en gebruik de juiste olie.

@Richard: is inderdaad mijn plan om een topic te openen om W201 forum. Heb echter weinig hobby tijd omdat ik 2 kleine kinderen heb. Komt goed, ga het oppakken

@Jurjen: deze bakken van de bouwjaren na 97 (toen is een glijlager vervangen door een kogellager) staan echt wel bekend om hun degelijkheid. Oliewissel probleem is me bekend maar de tip van de linkage neem ik zeker mee. Heb ook de stekker behuizing klaarliggen. De o-ringen daarvan geven problemen waardoor olie in de tcu komt.

Stekker verbinding is een zwak punt ja, heb ik daarna in een W203 nog eens last mee gehad..... ik zou bij elke oliewissel gewoon die afdichting vervangen, je bent dan toch bezig
Dat er na 97 een modificatie op geweest is op het lager was mij niet bekend, maar dat kan helpen ja Ik weet ook bijna zeker dat de 2e keer dat m'n bak in elkaar draaide, er andere olie in gegaan was, die mogelijk niet geschikt was, of niet goed mengde met wat er al in zat, vandaar mijn opmerking.
Met die lekkage via die linkage heb ik toen een oliespoor getrokken van een dealer in Berlijn, die er zo snel niks aan kon doen, want 12 uur werk en onderdeel niet op voorraad, tot thuis...... met onderweg paar keer de bak bijvullen......... word je niet blij van.
