Meestal geniet ik van de aanblik van een W124 maar deze keer wat minder.

De bestuurder was een vreselijke dwaas. Ondanks de drukte (fietsers / auto’s) ging meneer zonder enige vorm van aangeven stilstaan midden op de rijbaan, ineens weer een stukje door, kruispunt blokkeren, etc. Was gewoon gevaarlijk. En vervolgens verbaasd kijken dat andere weggebruikers hun ongenoegen kenbaar maken.

Groot gelijk Nan, ik bind liever één van mijn motorfietsen achterop dan zo'n suffe mountainbike :

De Engelsen waren vele jaren geleden hun tijd ver vooruit op motorfietsgebied, Denk ook aan die andere legendarische engelse merken zoals Triumpf, Royal Enfield ,Matchless, Norton en Bertus op zijn BSA

Vanmiddag was ik in Overloon. U weet wel, van:

Ik had een afspraak met iemand die twee complete Hella-koplampen te koop aanbood. Ik heb al twee koplampglazen (L + R) op zolder liggen maar twee complete behuizingen nog niet. En...'geen betere raad dan voorraad'. Met dank aan Gombal (Arjen)

De deal was snel gesloten en ik heb ze vanmiddag opgehaald. En, zoals altijd, een leuk gesprek over de W124.
Zijn W124 dateert van 07-10-1985, op 22-04-2010 geïmporteerd uit Duitsland. Een 'ouderwetse' carburateur (zie foto 5).

Op de tellerklok zat een sticker 'Tüv München 190' dus een Benz W124 uit Beieren? Dan heb je pas ballen!

Hij had bij Ali-Express aangeschaft:
- Een speciale zitting-cover voor de voorstoelen aangeschaft (zie foto 3). Stevig materiaal, lijkt ietwat op MB-Tex.
- Een een speciaal kussen om de middenarmsteun te verhogen (zie foto 4).

Drie prachtige coupés, in de afgelopen dagen gespot. En als bonus nog een W124 vanochtend gespot, op weg naar Zeeland.

Ik was vanmiddag even in Zwaag waar ik kom aanrijden bij de parkeerplaats bij het corona testcentrum en wat staat daar
de opvolger van mijn blauwe W124 de W210 uit 1998.

Vanmiddag, nabij Dorst, deze S124 uit 1992.

Vanochtend op de A16 richting Rotterdam, deze fraaie S124 (230TE).

Eerste toelating internationaal: 13-10-1986.
Eerste toelating nationaal: 17-02-2011 (datum geïmporteerd).

Huidige eigenaar: sinds 13-01-2014.

Vanochtend op de A16. Ik reed richting Rotterdam, de W124 die ik spotte richting Breda.

Laatst aanwezig geweest bij een groots Mercedes Evenement in Hattingen Dld, zo'n 60 km over de grens bij Venlo.
Echt de moeite waard.
Vanzelfsprekend waren ook de W124 modellen van de partij.

Ik spotte gisteren een in nieuwstaat verkerende 320E in Amsterdam Zuidoost met nog maar 155000km op de teller. Het is een vrij laat geleverde mopf1 uit augustus 1993. De Michelin banden die er onder zaten waren voor mij een teken dat de eigenaar niet bezuinigt op onderhoud.

en op de parkeerplaats een nette Malachietgroene W124 Kombi.
