Ik heb dat ook Boerke van Urk hier in Frankenland, maar toch zie ik er ene af en toe voorbij schuiven.
Vaak met een ouder kenteken hetgeen de indruk wekt dat men er geen afstand van wilt doen.
Op de Franse Marktplaats, Leboncoin, worden er met regelmaat aangeboden, echter, de meesten zijn slachtoffer van de Franse slag, afgetrapt en rijp voor de sloop.
Vandaar dat de 250TD '87, hier ook bekend als de Friesche dame en de E250 D '93 beiden door ons vanuit NL geïmporteerd zijn en dan nog zat er werk aan.
Maar ja, beiden kruipen naar de 6 ton, dus dan zijn er ook bij deze best wel wat dingen versleten.

Vandaar dus dat je er zo weinig van ziet, ze staan allen in de garage van die 'idioot'.
Tis hier in Frankenland niet veel beter, soms zie ik er ene voorbijschuiven, meestal met een oud baasje achter het stuur, blijkbaar kan ie er geen afstand van doen, begrijpelijk wellicht.
Een Franse kennis van mij Michel,rijdt nog steeds zijn W123 200D , als ik het goed heb, ooit nieuw gekocht, in de Gouden Tijden van weleer toen zijn drankenhandel aan de plaatselijke kroegen nog welig tierde.
Hij rijdt er alleen in het weekend mee, toen, en nu tijdens zijn pensioen nog steeds zo.
De Benz slaapt natuurlijk altijd binnen, en als het even kan, maggie ook niet nat worden.
Ik zou die wagen er best bij willen zetten hier, het is een smetteloos exemplaar, krijgt nog steeds al haar beurten bij Benz & Co.
Tsja, als je zo rondkijkt onderweg, lijkt het wel of kwaliteit geen bestaansrecht meer heeft.
Ik werk geregeld in de garage van vriend Mathieu hier, en als je onder sommige nieuwe auto's kijkt, terwijl Benz minded, vraag je je af hoe het komt dat die auto's überhaupt de weg op mogen.
De wielophanging, remschijven van nix, minimaal allemaal, behalve de prijs bien sûr.
En dan ook nog barstensvol met electronics, ben je mooi klaar mee.
Auto's die vol met sensors zitten en bij de minste storing de meestal onwetende eigenaar naar de merkgarage sturen, of slepen, alwaar het vel nog eens over zijn/haar oren wordt getrokken.
Ik kom zelf slechts in de garage van Mathieu om aan onze Benzen te werken, meestal in het weekend als de brug vrij is, wel net zo handig.
En anders gewoon vanaf de vloer, lukt meestal ook wel.
Keuring stelt hier geen ene reet voor, als je remmen en banden goed zijn ben je er meestal al wel.
De Blauwe die ik vroeger had, S124 uit Metz gehaald, kwam met een keuringsrapport met 19 aandachtspunten, maar verder goed. Twee jaar later weer eens naar de côntrole technique, en werd wederom goedgekeurd met 8 aandachtspunten.
Ding is, ik had gedurende die 2 jaar zo goed als niets aan die auto gedaan...... Een W124 is dus klaarblijkelijk in staat zich zelf te repareren tijdens zijn leven, of er klopt iets anders niet helemaal...

Dus, nog steeds on-topic hè Nan?, genoeg gespot, maar helaas geen plaatjes.

Afgelopen zaterdag was ik vanuit Tilburg op weg naar Maastricht en besloot eens binnendoor te gaan, prachtige route via België.

Daar spotte ik in de bossen een witte C124, nogal verdekt opgesteld. Geen tijd om te stoppen, anders hadden jullie een betere plaat gekregen.
