Beste mede-forumleden,

Eind december 2017 plaatste ik hier een foto van de kilometerteller met de magische grens van 200.000 km. Aangezien ik wekelijks ruim 1200 km rij in m'n 230CE, tikt uiteraard die km-teller ook gewoon door

Gisteren stond de teller 'ineens' op 222222. Kon het niet laten om even een fotootje te maken en hier te plaatsen. Op naar de 333333!

Waarom geen diesel ?

Tsja...waarom geen diesel?

Legio redenen:
- Omdat ik voor mijn werk (detachering bij overheden op gebied van informatiemanagement) veel in de randstad vertoef en met een diesel kom ik dan de milieuzones niet in. De huidige benzinemotor mét katalysator geeft (vooralsnog) geen problemen. Maar ook dat kan straks weer anders zijn.
- Omdat ik de C124 het mooiste model uit de W124-serie vind en hiervan zijn geen officiële dieselversies gefabriceerd. En al zou ik er eentje vinden, dan betaal ik me scheel aan houderschapsbelasting. Voor het verschil met een benzineversie kan ik heel wat liters EURO95 tanken
- Omdat het rijden met een C124 (met de onverwoestbare 2.3 liter, 4-cilinder, 8-klepper, 132 PK) heerlijk en onovertroffen is. 120 km/u cruisen op de snelweg, met de wetenschap dat áls je het gaspedaal even intrapt (kickdown) in no time op 160 km/u zit. Probeer dat maar eens met een ongeblazen 250D automaat...
- Omdat ik een C124 heb aangeschaft voor het comfort, rijgenot en de luxe en niet vanwege 'de munten'. Ik krijg van mijn werkgever een goede km-vergoeding en dat is ruim voldoende. Heb onlangs een leasebak afgewezen. Want zeg nou zelf: het rijgenot van een C124 is ongeëvenaard en een Ford Focus of een VW Golf kan daar echt niet aan tippen.

Kortom: op naar de 3 ton en ver daarboven

Die 3-en heb ik ook al aangetikt

Ik passeerde afgelopen week in Duitsland de 400.000 km.
En zet er nog wel een paar honderd duizend bij, wat een fijne auto!

Ik heb nog heel wat te gaan met 307.100

Toch al 27.000km sinds nieuwjaar . Dus zeg maar op 8 maand

Geweldig Lex! 4 ton en zet je met gemak nog het dubbele bij

We zijn 3 maanden verder sinds mijn post over 222222 en de teller staat inmiddels alweer op 237.000. Het gemiddelde per week is sinds eind juli gezakt van 1200 naar 800. Dus het duurt nog wel even voordat ik de 300.000 aantik.

Een dikke 6 maanden na mijn post over 222222 passeerde ik vanmiddag de 250.000 km...

Vandaag weer grote beurt laten doen dus alle filters (olie, benzine en lucht) vervangen. Bougies waren nog goed genoeg. Uiteraard verse olie en, gezien de weerberichten voor de komende tijd, ook maar direct de wintervelgen erop gelegd. Banden waren helaas niet goed genoeg meer dus geen risico en een set nieuwe winterbanden aangeschaft.

Kortom: op naar de 300K en laat die barre winter maar komen!

Eind december 2017 tikte ik de 200.000 aan, vanmiddag alweer de 260k. Dus 60.000 km in 13 maanden...en nog geen spoortje van vermoeidheid of slijtage. Kwestie van goed onderhoud, originele MB-onderdelen en uiteraard de nodige TLC

Op naar de 3 ton, die zal ik waarschijnlijk begin augustus bereiken
