Op 3 maart 1987 werd de autosalon in Genève geopend met een wereldprimeur: de introductie van de W124 Coupé, beter bekend als een C124, in de smaken 230CE en 300CE.

Op de persconferentie, in het Parc des Eaux Vives, sprak onder meer prof.dr. Werner Breinschwerdt, president-commissaris van Daimler-Benz AG (Aktiengesellschaft). Hij zei: 'Jeder Salon lebt nun eimal von seinen Neuvorstellungen, so auch dieser. Wir sind deshalb ein wenig stolz, mit userem neuen Mercedes-Coupé gerade hier in Genf (Genève) einen besonderen Akzent setzen zu können'.

Elke autojournalist ontving bij aanvang van de presentatie van de W124 Coupé een uitgebreide persmap. Samengesteld door de 'Presseabteilung' van Daimler-Benz AG. In de map zitten onder meer de technische gegevens, allerlei achtergrondinformatie en een aantal officiële persfoto's van de nieuwe 230CE en 300CE.

En zo'n officiële persmap heb ik onlangs op de kop getikt. Als bezitter van een 230CE gewoon leuk om te hebben. Maar nog leuker is het kunnen delen van deze informatie op dit forum. Ik heb nagenoeg alle informatie gescand en bij dit topic gevoegd, zodat jullie kunnen downloaden. Veel kijk- en leesplezier!
