Het gaat hier toch om je lievelings motor ? toch niet wat je hebt ?
Het lijkt mij stug dat een 230 je lievelings motor is :whistle:

Sommige mensen vinden het juist lekker om niet super veel vermogen te hebben of ze kicken op zuinigheid. Dat kan een reden zijn om een minder sterke motor te kopen.

Ik ga voor mijn huidige 300 benzinemotor waar ik heel erg te spreken over ben.
Heb alleen een 2ltr benzine uit 98 en 3.5 V8 uit 1972 als Mercedes ervaring, dus niet veel referentiekader.
Wat ik me niet voor kan stellen is dat een 200D of 250D nou echt lekker motoren zijn, want ze maken vrij veel lawaai en zijn niet echt pittig te noemen. Maar ieder zijn ding natuurlijk. ;-)

Ik heb alleen ervaring met mijn M104 E280. Ik kan me niet echt voorstellen dat ik een veel tragere motor zou willen hebben. Laat staan dat een trage 200D of 250D de lievelingsmotor zou zijn. Een S124 is immers best een zware auto.

Voor mijn Mercedes reed ik meestal turbodiesels met een stevig koppel. Ik heb daarvoor ook diesels gereden zonder turbo maar die vond ik niet zo prettig. Meerdere provincies nodig om op snelheid te komen.

Maar goed dat waren wel andere merken. (Subaru boxer diesel, Rover IDTi en TDi, Peugeot D en turbo-d)

Mijn vader heeft vroeger 230E's en 260E's gehad. Hij vond de 230's lekkerder trekken maar de 260's mooier lopen. Ging uiteindelijk bij de latere auto's ook voor de 260. Hij was overigens ook erg gecharmeerd van de W123 250 die hij voor de W124s had.

Ik heb eerder in dit topic voor een E36 gekozen omdat ik me voor kan stellen dat een 8 pitter wat doet met het gewicht en daarnaast niet als T beschikbaar is geweest. De E36 is de dikste zes pitter en zal niet veel zwaarder zijn dan de 2.8 die ik nu heb. Ik vind het turbine achtige geluid van de M104 onder belasting overigens ook prachtig.

Voor mij ook de 250D. Inderdaad niet de snelste maar wel een prachtig geluid, vooral tussen 2500 en 3000 toeren. heerlijk!

De 230E

Oerdegelijk (minder elektronica dan bij de 4V motoren), soeplesse, rustig en draaivriendelijk.
Met rustig rijgedrag haalde ik met m'n 230E 1:11, terwijl ik met m'n huidige 200E hoogstens 1:10 haal. Deze moet namelijk harder werken en is (daarom) ook luidruchtiger.
Heb ook een E280 gehad, maar daar reed ik als een debiel mee; veel te gevaarlijk.
Daarbij ontstekings issues gehad..

Geef mij de 230E maar; comfortabel, extra trekkracht is altijd voor handen en gemonteerd in een bak met een onderstel dat berekend is voor de 300E !!
Altijd stabiel dus.
Oerdegelijk en meest zuinige benzine uitvoering.

230E nu samen met de 250D op nummer 1!

voor me zelf de 300D omdat het zuinig rijd.

als ik moet kiezen voor een echte motor kies ik voor een USA V8

@Bigidiot ..... USA V8 .....verouderde techniek met een door de krukas bediende kleppenstootsysteem.
Langeslag motoren die relatief weinig PK's leveren ...wel genoeg koppel. Dorstig en lawaaierig......
Dit kan zich toch niet meten met een MB V8 ?
