Daarnet werd me om ervaringen gevraagd hoe het is om met een caravan achter de Benz te rijden.
Misschien wel leuk dat je hier je ervaringen neerzet.

Ik trap af:

Sep 2010 Adria Optima gekocht om in 2011 mee te gaan kamperen.
Met de caravan achter de Benz houd ik met mijn 4 bak schakel de combinatie
op de 90 km/u , gaspedaal niet gevloerd.
Ik heb al proefgereden op hellingen, vals plat, op ritten en viaducten.
Volgens http://www.caravantrekker.nl was de berekening niet zo positief.
Maar omdat wij voorlopig lekker in Nederland blijven, verwacht ik daar geen problemen mee.

Dus ben benieuwd of er meer mensen hier een caravan hebben in samenhang dat men met de W124 ook op vakantie gaat.

mijn ervaringen met de 2,5 diesel en een Kip greyline 480 caravan.

Wist niet dat die tanks zo goed kunnen trekken zeg.

Uiteindelijk gaat het allemaal om het koppel wat de Benz kan ontwikkelen. Maakt nogal een verschil of je met een 200D of een 300D met turbo een caravan gaat trekken. Ik zelf trek de sleurhut (Elddis 470) (beladen 1400 kg) met een 320 benzine. Gaat prima, geen gekke dingen doen en rustig rijden, ik kom zelden boven de 100 en rij in zijn 3 op de automaat, dan maakt de motor ongeveer 3700 toeren. Tempo hou ik aan van de vrachtwagens. Hiervoor een E300D gereden, heeft minder koppel (210 NM bij 2200 toeren tegen een E320 met 310 NM bij 3750), maar vond de E300D ook een prima trekker, juist omdat het koppel al snel beschikbaar is.
Het verbruik met de caravan zakt naar 1 op 8 op benzine, op LPG zakt het verbruik naar 1 op 6.
Wil je echt veel trekkracht, dan zul je naar een commonrail diesel moeten.

Ik kan me herinneren dat in de jaren 80 dat ''vee handelaren'' rustig met 2 koeien in de veewagen in de rondte reden met een Benz.
Dus zo raar is dat niet, toch?

We zullen zien wie es geht.

Heb zelf een 250 20 klepper diesel station automaat, daar hangt in de vakantie een Hobby 530 achter van 1350 kg. Totaal gewicht ongeveer 3 Ton. Oostenrijk ,zuid Duitsland geweest, maar daar zitten steile stukken tusssen. Ging altijd goed, al reden de vrachtwagens met 500 pk ons wel voorbij .

Maar ik had niet het idee dat ik terug moest naar 3, ik kon
hem dus wel in de 4 houden en 85 km/h rijden, vreemd?

Wij gaan ook elk jaar met vankantie maar wel binnenland en dezelfde camping elk jaar eigen vaste plek en denk dat deze caravan gewoon achter de Octavia 2.0TDI blijft hangen. Was afgeraden om dit joekel achter de Benz te hangen 1300 kilo leeg en 6,30 lang

Een 200D mag geremd 1500kg max. trekken,
dus dat zou het probleem niet mogen zijn.

Maar ik kan me voorstellen dat je zuinig op je Benz bent.

Afgelopen Mei vakantie voor t eerst met de caravan achter de Benz gereden. Was wel effe wennen hoor. Zo rond de 80 km schakelde de automaat veelvuldig heen en weer tussen de versnellingen wat een beetje een onrustig gevoel gaf. Maar op een gegeven ging het als een tierelier. Gewoon een beetje rustig met t gaspedaal. De 1000 kg die onze Adria 425 TLE mag wegen was geen probleem voor de 300D. Wat een luxe is dit in vergelijking met mijn vorige auto's. Op de afsluitdijk stond een aardige harde wind maar de caravan bleef keurig volgen. Prima!!
We zijn geweest bij camping Swart in Warns (zuidwest Friesland) Perfecte camping voor wie van rust en een mooi uitzicht houdt. Over uitzicht gesproken je auto mag lekker op de campingplek staan iets wat steeds zeldzamer wordt in Nederland. Dus lekker met een biertje in de hand naar de Benz zitten koekeloeren. Over een biertje gesproken we zijn naar brouwerij Us Heit geweest in Bolswart. Geweldig interessant en lekker bier in vele soorten. Ook wordt hier een lekkere Wiskhy gemaakt. Voor een luttel bedrag kan je meedoen aan een proeverij. Aanbevolen. In Balk nog even een scootertje gehuurd. Achter deze verhuurder zat trouwens een Mercedes oldtimer bedrijf. Helaas gesloten anders waren we even gaan smullen natuurlijk.
Ik zal nog een paar fotootjes van de Benz met caravan erbij proberen te zetten.
En nu maar op weg naar de zomervakantie naar Portugal. Dit jaar eens zonder caravan en dus lekker zoeffen 2100 km lang ........
