Ik cruise iedere dag met veel plezier in mijn schitterende 300E-24. Sinds kort rammelt mijn einddemper bij lage toerentallen. Een vibratie waardoor er volgens mij een schotje in de demper los ligt. Technisch maakt het niets uit maar ik vind dat gerammel wel irritant. Nu kan ik natuurlijk een andere demper regelen, maar iemand ervaring met het oplossen van dit probleem?

Het oplossen zit toch vaak in een nieuwe einddemper. Aan de buitenkant zien de dempers er vaak nog prima uit terwijl ze van binnen helemaal verrot zijn. Het isolatie materiaal blokkeert dan gelijkelijk aan de doorstroming van de uitlaatgassen wat niet bevorderlijk is voor de trekkracht. Om zeker te weten of jouw demper verrot is kan je met een endoscoop in je demper kijken en dan beslissen of je een nieuwe nodig hebt.

Toen ik de demper van mijn W201 openmaakte trof ik dit aan:
